What is RevMRR?

RevMRR is a verified startup intelligence platform and acquisition marketplace. Founders showcase real, payment-provider-verified revenue (MRR/ARR), build in public, and list businesses for sale without high broker commissions. Buyers and investors use RevMRR to discover authentic, cash-flowing businesses with transparent financial proof.

Is RevMRR free to use?

Yes. Browsing the directory, the verified revenue rankings, the founder feed, and the acquisition marketplace are all free. Adding your startup and getting a verified listing is also free — optional add-ons (like a website link or an AI-visibility boost) and the sponsor placement are the only paid products.

Do I need an account to browse RevMRR?

No. You can browse the startup directory, rankings, and the acquisition marketplace without an account. You'll need to sign in to claim a startup, manage a listing, or send/receive acquisition offers.

How do I add my startup to RevMRR?

From the homepage or your dashboard, choose "Add your startup," connect a read-only API key from your payment provider, and we verify your revenue automatically. Your listing is free — optional paid add-ons are offered afterwards, never required.

Which payment providers does RevMRR support?

Stripe, Paddle, Creem, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, PayPal, and Dodo Payments via a read-only API key, plus Whop via an account API key. Superwall support is planned but not yet available.

How do I claim an existing startup profile?

If your startup is already indexed, open its profile and start the claim flow. You verify ownership by connecting your payment provider (or your company domain), and once approved you get full dashboard control over its description, metrics, and listing status.

Can I edit or remove my startup listing?

Yes — edit any detail (description, socials, asking price, sale status) from your dashboard at any time. To remove a listing entirely, reach out via Contact and we'll take care of it.

Verification & Data Security

How revenue verification works, and exactly what we do and don't access.

How does revenue verification work?

Verification connects directly to your payment provider using a read-only key. We calculate Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), growth rate, and customer counts from your actual transactions — not self-reported estimates. Once verified, your profile gets a Revenue Verified badge.

What data does RevMRR access from my payment provider?

Only aggregate revenue metrics: gross volume, MRR, growth rate, and customer/subscription counts. We never request permission to move funds, create charges, or modify your billing.

Does RevMRR see my customers or transactions?

No. We don't collect or store customer names, emails, payment methods, or individual transaction details — only the aggregated totals you choose to publish on your profile.

Are payment provider API keys read-only and secure?

Yes. Every credential we ask for is a restricted, read-only key or token. Keys are encrypted at rest, and your account can never be charged or modified through RevMRR.

What are the trust badges on startup profiles?

Three distinct badges: Founder Verified (identity and ownership confirmed), Company Verified (business and domain authenticity confirmed), and Revenue Verified (confirmed via a read-only payment provider connection). Badges can never be purchased — paying for a sponsor slot has zero effect on any of them.

How is the leaderboard ranked?

By default, rankings sort by verified MRR. You can filter by category or sort by ARR, growth rate, or name. Only verified data is used for ranking — unverified submissions are shown transparently as such.

Why might my numbers look slightly different from my provider's own dashboard?

Payment providers each compute MRR, churn, and revenue slightly differently depending on how they handle refunds, trials, discounts, and currency conversion. Small discrepancies between what you see on RevMRR and your provider's native dashboard are expected.

Marketplace — Buying & Selling

How the acquisition marketplace actually works, and what RevMRR does (and doesn't) do in a deal.

How do I list my startup for sale?

From your dashboard, toggle a startup you own to "For sale" and set an asking price — the revenue multiple is calculated automatically from your verified metrics. Your listing appears in the acquisition marketplace immediately, at no extra cost.

How do buyers make an offer or inquire about a listing?

Buyers filter listings by MRR, asking price, multiple, and category, then submit an offer or message directly from the listing page. Sellers see incoming offers in their dashboard inbox and can respond to start a conversation.

Does RevMRR handle escrow or the money transfer?

No. RevMRR is not an escrow agent, broker, or party to the transaction. Once a buyer and seller connect, all negotiation, due diligence, legal paperwork, and the fund transfer happen directly between them, independently of RevMRR.

Is RevMRR a broker or M&A advisor?

No. RevMRR is strictly a discovery and communication platform. We don't verify deal terms, guarantee outcomes, or take a cut of the sale price. Buyers should always do their own independent due diligence before completing a purchase.

What is the Founder Feed?

A build-in-public timeline where founders share milestones, launches, and revenue updates. Posts link back to the creator's verified startup profile, driving traffic and visibility.

How does advertising work?

RevMRR sells one product: the Side-Panel Sponsor placement, at a flat $599 for 30 days — no tiers to compare. It's a capped pool of slots rotating across both side rails and the mobile marquee, always labeled "Sponsored," and it has zero effect on verification status. See Pricing for details.

Does RevMRR have a public API?

Yes. GET /api/v1/startups returns a paginated list of real startups from RevMRR's revenue dataset — filterable by category, sale status, and MRR range, and sortable by MRR or name. It's public and requires no API key.

What does the API return?

Each result includes the startup's name, slug, logo, description, website, category, founder name, MRR/ARR, sale status, and its rank within the current filtered result set, alongside pagination metadata (total, page, limit, hasMore).
